This Privacy Policy will explain how we use and protect your Personal Information.
What is “Personal Information”?
Personal Information is a specific piece of information relating to an individual user, such as name, address, age, gender, email address, education or qualification information.
Icom’s intention is to provide users with their own user controlled content provision Service. Icom therefore provides users with the tools to control the personalisation of their Service. It is within your control to determine just how the service should work for you.
Aggregate Information
Our definition of Personal Information does not include “Aggregate Information”, this is data that we may collect about a group or category of users which does not contain information that could be used to identify an individual. Aggregate Information helps to identify trends and user requirements so that we can better consider new services, products and functions that will best meet our user’s needs and desires.
When using 3D Network powered mobile phone applications, we may use caching to the local handset memory to observe your use of the application, When you connect to our servers for an update or query, the server extracts the cached information from your handsets local memory and adds the data to the rest of your information we already know about you. We are then able to fine tune the data we send to your mobile application or other 3D Network service the next time around.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
Icom may also collect non-personally identifiable information to help power the Service. This may include information relating to your browsing activities and preferences. To do this we use first and third party cookies. Cookies help us to understand what elements of the Service you use and, thus, enables us to provide a more enjoyable and customised service and experience, which better meets our individual user’s needs.
What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your web or mobile browser from a server and stored on your computer or phone hard drive. Each web/wapsite can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web/wapsite to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other web/wapsites.
Many web and wapsites do this whenever a user visits their web or wapsite in order to track their online traffic flow. The cookie recognises you on a repeat visit and thus helps the Service to notice trends in your browsing activity. These trends help us to provide information which is personally relevant to you.
Users have the opportunity to set their computers to accept all cookies, to notify them when a cookie is issued or, to not receive cookies at any time. The last of these, of course, means that certain personalised services cannot then be provided to that user and, accordingly, you will not be able to take full advantage of our Services unique personalisation features. Each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie settings or for more information on cookies please visit www.aboutcookies.org.

How is my Personal Information Secure?
From the start of your relationship with our Service, the security of your Personal Information is our utmost concern. Our business is built around integrity and quality.
In addition to our Services own security systems and protocols, we put comprehensive protection in place to prevent any leakage of your sensitive information. This external protection is provided by Rackspace, global specialists in managed internet hosting. As information security experts, they deploy the following advanced defences on our behalf:
- Automated security patching: trusted administrators apply updates right across the system to close loopholes before hacking, compliance or infringement issues can compromise the system
- Firewalls: a sturdy multi-layered defensive system for 3D Network’s dynamic environment, the hardware firewall works with a set of rules to filter traffic entering 3D Network from the internet. Additionally, Rackspace use the Cisco Intrusion Detection System as an extra line of defence, constantly monitoring server network connections and updating firewall rules against malicious activity.
- Certificates: all personal details, and transfers of sensitive data, are secured by the 128-bit Global Server ID VeriSign SSL Certificate. VeriSign provides SSL Certificates for the world’s 40 largest banks, and over 93% of Fortune 500 companies. 128-bit encryption offers 288 times more combinations than 40-bit encryption – so if data is ever intercepted, it remains more than a trillion times more secure than normal 40-bit security measures.
NB: We must point out that we cannot, and do not, guarantee the security of information on other sites on the internet.
